I took basic training with Ruddy at Fort Ord and went to Okinawa with him in 1950. We were in the same squad while on Okinawa. We were best friends and had a few beers in the villages before we went to Korea. Ruddy had a talent for Art. He could look at a picture and draw it perfectly. Ruddy was my assistant on a BAR while in Korea. We were attacked by the Chinese in Nov 1950 and Ruddy was captured. I don't know if he was wounded before capture or not.
