The 35th Infantry Regiment Association salutes our fallen brother, PFC Mc Donald Walter Sanders, US53127425, who died in the service of his country on June 11th, 1953 in North Korea. The cause of death was listed as KIA. At the time of his death Mc Donald was 23 years of age. He was from Spring Hope, North Carolina. Mc Donald's Military Occupation Specialty was 1745-Light Weapons Infantry Leader.

The decorations earned by PFC Mc Donald Walter Sanders include: the Combat Infantryman Badge, the Purple Heart, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Korea Service Medal, and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.


Private First Class Sanders was a member of the 35th Infantry Regiment, 25th Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action while fighting the enemy near Kaesong, North Korea as the 1st Marine Division was relieving the 25th Infantry Division on June 11, 1953.
