The 35th Infantry Regiment Association salutes our fallen brother, PFC Harold (Sport) Vance Christy, 37673518, who died in the service of his country on February 2nd, 1945 in Luzon, The Philippines. At the time of his death Harold was 20 years of age.

The decorations earned by PFC Harold (Sport) Vance Christy include: the Combat Infantryman Badge, the Bronze Star, the Purple Heart, the Asiatic-Pacific Service Medal, and the World War II Victory Medal.


Harold was originally buried in the Philippines but was later brought home and buried in Bloomfield, Iowa. Harold was killed by a Japanese sniper at Lupao.
