The 35th Infantry Regiment Association salutes our fallen brother, Tech5 Eugene Frederick Cribelar, 35169109, who died in the service of his country on May 18th, 1945 in Luzon. The cause of death was listed as KIA. At the time of his death Eugene was 25 years of age. He was from Indianapolis, Indiana.

The decorations earned by Tech5 Eugene Frederick Cribelar include: the Combat Infantryman Badge, the Bronze Star, the Purple Heart, the Asiatic-Pacific Service Medal, and the World War II Victory Medal.


Eugene worked for C.E.Trees prior to entering the service on 9 October 1941.

He is buried in the Manila American Cemetery.

Eugene was also wounded on 02/02/1945 and 04/17/1945. Thus three Purple Hearts.

He was killed in perimeter 200 yards east of Balete Pass.
