Unit Locations: A Co (-) at LZ Gloria; 3rd Plt at LZ Mary Lou; B Co 1/35 at LZ Gloria; C Co at LZ Jean; D Co at LZ Jean; Recon Plt at Bridge

Summary: Log opened at 0001 hours 2 October 1968. At 1125 hours read out on SRP 8 A Co 1/35. Point man received small arms fire at grid ZA 162733 about 200 meters to his front. The point man was wounded in the head. The SRP team fired M-79 rounds and withdrew. The enemy force was estimated to be between 8-10 people. A Co fired light organics (Mortars) on the suspected enemy positions. Due to the closeness of other SRP teams, Arty could not be fired on the enemy positions. However, Arty was employed as blocking fire to the northwest of enemy locations. Cider 34 (FAC) was called on station and had an air strike needed if necessary. The aerial rifle platoon 7/17 Cav was called in to extract the wounded individual. Extraction was completed without further contact. The ARP found 3 bunkers, rice, equipment and some documents in the area of extraction (End of read out). At 1315 hours B Co 1/35 departed LZ Gloria. They are en route to a rendezvous point on highway 14 with convoy movement to Duc Co Special Forces Camp. Extraction complete at 1645 hours.
