Summary: Log opened at 0001 hours 19 April 1969. Unit locations: At LZ Oasis grid ZA119278; Battalion Headquarters (Forward), A Company at ZA086326; B Company (-) at ZA071327; C Company at ZA064420; D Company and Recon platoon at ZA106438; 4.2 mortar platoon at LZ Oasis; Headquarters and Headquarters Company Support (S-4 Forward) at LZ Oasis; At Base Camp (Camp Enari); Battalion Headquarters (Rear).

At 1013 hours on 19 Apr 69 D Company checked out the village of Pleiku Tong and the village had a normal amount of rice but no exceptional amount. At 1344 hours on 19 Apr 69 A Company at ZA093348 reported to TOC when their dogs became alert and they found an area where 2 people have slept in the last 24 to 48 hours. They also found ashes from some papers that were burnt but were not able to salvage any paper. At 1346 hours on 19 Apr 69 A Company at ZA093348 spotted 1 enemy soldier wearing green fatigues and a red neckerchief and weapon. They were not sure of the weapon type and this enemy was about 10 meters to the north of them. The company opened fire and he fled north. The company is sweeping the area at this time. At 1442 hours on 19 Apr 69 A Company at ZA093348 reported receiving small arms fire and M-79 fire from the east. There was an estimated squad size VC and 1 WIA medic shot in the arm. At 1449 hours on 19 Apr 69 A Company reports the first indication of enemy vision as when they spotted one individual wearing a red scarf, green fatigues and carrying an SKS or AK-47. They also saw and individual group across the blue line. At 1540 hours on 19 Apr 69 A Company 53 element found an RPG round and they will continue to sweep the area. At 1615 hours on 19 Apr 69 A Company finished the sweep and found 10 to 12 sleeping positions, 24 hours old in the area where the RPG round was found. At 1730 hours on 19 Apr 69 A Company 100 meters west of contact sight (092348) found sleeping positions (1 x 2 man and very old). They are moving out at this time. At 1756 hours on 19 Apr 69 S-2 reported to TOC that the search started 190730 and ended 191130. They located 33 housed and 44 rice hooch's when they cordoned the village of Pleiku Tong at 190730 staring time.

1450 hours A Co reports WIA wounded in three places in left arm from M-79 fragments. His name is Moser, Dennis - Medic Hq Roster line #170 Apr.
