Summary: Log opened at 0001 hours 21 April 1969. Unit locations: At LZ Oasis grid ZA114275; Battalion Headquarters (Forward), 1/35th CP at LZ Oasis; A Company at grid ZA094374; B Company CP at grid ZA144395; C Company at grid ZA154410; D Company and Recon platoon at grid ZA169400; 4.2 mortar platoon at LZ Oasis; Headquarters and Headquarters Company Support (S-4 Forward) at LZ Oasis; At Base Camp (Camp Enari); Battalion Headquarters (Rear).

At 0829 hours on 21 Apr 69 C Company reports they think they received 6 rounds of AK fire from the village and they would like to recon around the village by fire. S-3 says they can send an element to check our the area where they think the small arms fire came from, but not to shoot in or around the village and C Company. At 0725 hours on 21 Apr 69 D company says they have searched out the rice hooches outside of the village and had negative findings. At 0805 hours on 21 Apr 69 C Company said that they found 6 AK rounds 200 meters northeast of the village located at ZA152412. At 1915 hours on 21 Apr 69 Bn S-2 reports the following message to Bn CO: An agent report from Thanh Anh says an NVA Bn commanded by Vu Van Vinh in dark brown uniform, armed with 3 (three) 81mm mortars, 1 (one) 60mm mortar and individual weapons was at this location with the mission to attack Plei Ring De resettlement center at an unknown time. (The source was Plei Ku committee) and there was a negative rating on this source.

0620 hours (C) B Co reports hearing automatic weapons fire from northeast at 1000 meters.

1056 hours (C) PZ is complete for A Co from ZA094371.

1100 hours (C) LZ is complete for A Co at ZA154410.

1430 hours (C) Recon is in position with B Co 51.
