Summary: Log opened at 0001 hours 6 May 1969. Unit locations: At LZ Oasis grid ZA117277; Battalion Headquarters (Forward), 1/35th Command post is at LZ Oasis ZA117277; A Company at ZA007301; B Company at ZA091326; C Company at ZA104420; D Company at ZA065394; Recon platoon at ZA144223; 4.2 mortar platoon ZA007301; Headquarters and Headquarters Company Support (S-4 Forward) at LZ Oasis; At Base Camp (Camp Enari); Battalion Headquarters (Rear).

At 0925 hours on 6 May 69 D Company 1st platoon 2080 and the Mike element of the 1/14th spotted 20 individuals with weapons at grid AR764085. CSF said that no one was in that area from our elements. Individuals wore packs, weapons, green fatigues and were walking in 2 columns toward the blueline.

1625 hours (C) B Co's Planned Summary: The Co is to conduct search operations to the east and is to establish a N/L at vicinity ZA107329, accept resupply, 1st PH plt is to conduct Co combat assault cordon patrol and establish a N/L in the vicinity of ZA113385. The 2nd PH plt is to conduct a search to the east and establish a N/L with B Co's CP. The 3d PH plt is to conduct a search operation to vicinity of ZA107329 and establish a N/l at vicinity of ZA095338. An end of the planned summary has a minimum of 3 ambushes that will be used.

1717 hours (C) D Co 1st, 2nd plt's: CA - First PZ is at 1717 hours. First LZ is 1736 hours.

1817 hours (C) D Co 1st, 2nd plt's: CA Final PZ is at 1755 hours, final LZ is 1815 hours.

1850 hours (C) S-3 To A Co CO: Cpt Scott informed A Co CO to have his men sleep in foxholes tonight because of possible mortar attacks.

2110 hours (C) Bn CO to C Co: The men of your element were not in foxholes the last time they had incoming. You are to be in the foxholes and enlarge them if necessary. This message needs an acknowledgement. (From C Co CO)

2111 hours (U) DELAYED ENTRY - On 6 May 69 at 2104 hours C Co answered Bn CO in reference to message about sleeping in foxholes: We cannot sleep in the holes because they are too small and we are sleeping beside the holes.
