Summary: Log opened at 0001 hours 7 May 1969. Unit locations: At LZ Oasis grid ZA117277; Battalion Headquarters (Forward), 1/35th Command post is at LZ Oasis ZA117277; Command Post (-) at Plei Me; A Company at ZA007302; B Company at ZA091326; C Company at ZA104420; D Company at ZA065394; Recon platoon at ZA178223; 4.2 mortar platoon ZA007302; Headquarters and Headquarters Company Support (S-4 Forward) at LZ Oasis; At Base Camp (Camp Enari); Battalion Headquarters (Rear).
At 1720 hours on 7 May 69 the Recon plt at location ZA175239 was setting up a night location. They found 5 holes with (VC) jugs. The jugs had rice in them and a total of 150 pounds of rice was found which was real old. At 1800 hours on 7 May 69 Battalion gave permission from higher authority (Brigade) to Recon to destroy all but 116 pounds of rice and the jugs. Battalion TOC said to send the jugs and 1 pound of rice back to S-2.
1100 hours (C) A Co requests a Dust-Off for a man who was bitten on the left wrist by a scorpion. Dust-Off 33 is on station at 1155 hours and is complete at 1200 hours. The man is line #10 May roster from 4.2 platoon.
2120 hours (C) S-3 to A, B, C and D Co's: We notified them that they will be moving tomorrow.
2215 hours (C) From Lt. Clark at Bde to S-3 1/35th: General Pepke will arrive here at LZ Oasis at Flexible Pad at 0940 hours tomorrow. He will go to the briefing at the Bde TOC at 1015 hours. He will leave Bde TOC to go to Bn TOC at 1020 hours. At Bn TOC he will spend 15 minutes either walking about the area or in a briefing which he will depart at 1035 hours. He will arrive and leave in a jeep provided by Bde.
2342 hours (U) DELAYED ENTRY - On 7 May 69 at 2320 hours Bn CO reported to B Co: You will be going OPCON to the 2/1 Cav tomorrow.
