From the Daily Journal for August 7, 1970 comes this note of interest.
"Item 4 0730 Hrs
Message from BDE:
Subject: The use of aircraft for hauling beer: The use of an aircraft for the sole purpose of hauling beer forward area is prohibited.
Beer may not be transported further than the fire base. May be flown to fire bases on a space available basis only. That is if the aircraft is on a primary cargo haul other than beer. This is not to fill the space or weight limit of aircraft."
